Hey im Melissa Shah! Ever since I was a young girl I have always loved art and expressing my ideas through art. I came to America at the age of ten from Calcutta, India. My family was poor and we bought very little with us when we moved. many times I would feel homesick and wish I could go back home. That's when art played a huge role in my life. through art, I was able to bring back pieces of home to where I was.in the beginning I feelt lonely because it was hard for me to fit in with the other kids due t the languagebarrier. My art helped gave me an outlet to deal with the stress and gave me a sense of calmness.  it helped me to express my culture and let others know where I came from. it also helped me to stay connected to my roots. im hoping others can see the beauty of my hometown through my works of art.

 

Aesthetic galore has allowed me to share my work on a much broader spectrum. allowing others to see my use of vibrant colors has given me something to be proud of. I've become confident in my work by seeing the positive responses others have shared to this website. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity this website has granted me.
