Hey, I’m Mia Johnson and pottery has become my lifeline. Sitting down at the dinner table back in Alabama was where my inspiration derived from. I used the simple objects and utensils to change my perception of dinnerware. I seek to enhance the experience of interacting with functional objects in order to add spark in the everydays tasks that we must perform. I create ceramic pottery that ranges from dishes to cups. The interesting part of the entire experience is the beauty in transforming something useless into a result that brings life and enjoyment in people’s lives. I dream that one day, my works of art become the centerpieces of dining tables nationwide. However, in order to make this dream a reality, I needed assistance.
